Male De-Sexing (castration)

If your pet is booked in for desexing, he is to be admitted on the morning of surgery on an empty stomach, i.e. no food from night before at 7pm and then only 1/2 his normal amount, preferably meat or canned food only. Water is to be available at all times.

We will ask for a consent form to be signed at the time and we will try to contact you as soon as surgery is done if you leave contact numbers at the time

FALSE: if he never mates, he does not know what he is missing and so cannot suffer by its absence. In fact most owners report an increase in anti-social habits after a mating and perceive the dog as marking and mounting more than before.

"He will get fat".

FALSE: Over feeding makes animals fat. Reduce the daily amount of food by a fifth or 20% if excess weight a problem.
