Brown Dog Ticks

We occasionally find brown dog ticks in Melbourne. They do not like our winter and you are unlikely to come across them. They will cause no harm.

The paralysis tick is endemic to coastal areas north of the Gippsland Lakes, but can occasionally be be brought to more Southern locales as an unwelcome hitchhiker.
